  • Applied Energy's Special Issue: Energy-cyber-physical Systems

    Applied Energy, a peer-reviewed, academic journal that focuses on energy engineering research, has a special issue on "Energy-cyber-physical Systems" that will be published in the February 2019 edition. The special issue is led by Prof. Costas Spanos, SBB2 Program Leader. Please click here for details on the Call for Papers.   • SinBerBEST Renewal Program

    SinBerBEST Renewal Program Approved by National Research Foundation

    The SinBerBEST Renewal program (SBB2) has been approved for funding by the National Research Foundation. It commenced on 1 June 2017 and will end on 31 May 2022.

    Building on the considerable research investments and successes from the current SinBerBEST program, the SBB2 team will continue to innovate building technologies for energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, with renewed, greater emphases on technology transfer and commercialization, and closer collaboration with the Singapore agencies.

  • Prof. Eicke Weber Joins BEARS

    Prof. Eicke Weber Joins BEARS

    On 2 January 2017, Dr. Eicke Weber replaced Prof. Masayoshi Tomizuka as the BEARS Director. 

    Dr. Weber was the Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg for 10 years. Prior to joining Fraunhofer ISE, Dr. Weber spent 23 years at the University of California at Berkeley as a Professor of Materials Science and, most recently, Chair of the Nanoscale Science and Engineering Graduate Group.
